Clinical Diagnosis and Management

Being an internist implies following a rigorous training focusing on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the diseases of the adult in patients eighteen years and older. Internists have extensive experience caring for the special health problems of the elderly, including end of life care.

Internists are equipped to deal with whatever problem a patient brings, no matter how common or rare, how simple or complex. They are specially trained to solve puzzling diagnostic problems and can handle severe chronic illnesses and situations where several different illnesses may strike at the same time. They also bring to patients an understanding of wellness, women’s health, substance abuse, mental health, as well as effective treatment of common problems of the eyes, ears, skin, nervous system and reproductive organs.

Practice Areas

Dealing with the complexities of the current medical environment, internists take pride in caring for their patients for life, advocating for their needs, helping them to understand the sometimes difficult choices confronting them and providing comprehensive coordination of care with other physicians, health care professionals and hospitals, an emerging concept known as the Patient Centered Medical Home.

As your internist and fellowship trained geriatrician, I strive to provide care that is professional, compassionate, timely and rooted in the best available medical evidence.
